Latest Progression and Status of My Paintings

"Una is Safe Up Here." 24x24 Acrylic on Canvas. This piece just sold!

Almost done with Cherries!!! I just have to add another layer of paint to the ground and apply some shadowing.
This piece is a gift for my Sister-In-Law.

I will be in the Studio all weekend working away! (It's supposed to snow...perfect time to lock myself indoors.) I have 4 commissions to start and several birds to complete along with the MuSHROOM painting. Pure bliss! :-)

Here are a couple more progress shots of the latest paintings.

I'm still working on a title..for now it's "Cherries" This 16x16 painting has been so much fun with all the detail.
The skirt is Acrylic on the bottom half and handmade paper on the top half. Inspired by Italian wrap skirts. I think the top is going to be a creamy butter color.... I think. I'm going to put a light yellow ochre wash over the handmade paper to give it color harmony with the background. Her Hair is going to be dark auburn almost black.

I worked on all this detail late last night after all the kids went to bed. This painting is for my sweet Sister-In-Law, Colleen! I'm glad it will stay in the family. I really like how it is turning out.
Multitasker is almost done. I decided to use vintage book sheets for his cape. I just need to detail out the hat (inspired by the hat is Aunt Colleen made him). I love the blue and tan theme with the leopard heels. Cracks me up.

Detail. Such a sweet peaceful face.

Multi-tasker. Almost done. Need to finish his cape. Maybe red?
Courtney and Her Prince Angry Bird. I need to finish the ground. I might add some flowers.

Paintings In Progress - March 03, 2011

Almost done with Courtney and her prince. I keep changing the title...who knows it might change again. I need to finish the tree and her skin.I should probably add some funky shadows. We'll see.
Love is almost done. You can see a new little bird below. It was an accidental water/paint drop that I ended up liking and creating a little birdy out of. I like how it added movement to the composition.

Locks for love. I still have quite a bit of work on this one. I love the little owl that is started in the lower left. He's going to be pretty cute sitting there with his leg up.

Best friends still has some work I'm playing with the composition and color arangement.

Multi-tasker...Can't wait to slap some more paint on this guy. I think it will be one of my favorites. It makes our family laugh.... :)
Still working on the costumes and details. Something is charming about this one. Maybe it's because I've always loved playing dress up.

Hard to see. I painted the yellow/brown background over the pencil. It's a girl sitting in a tree with an owl. It's 24" x 24'. I have a good feeling about this one. It's peaceful and is inspired by my late Grandmother who loved owls.

Here's a sketch on 16"x16" canvas. MuSHROOMS.

Another 16"x16" canvas. Cherries...yum. :-) The pleats are going to be fun!

Stay tuned for the finally on all of these paintings!!!
